Case Study
The Challenge:
A Midwestern children’s museum wanted to add a new exhibit to show kids how waves form, propagate and dissipate in large bodies of water. They needed a waterproof tank 16-feet long, 5-feet tall and 1-foot deep.
The APS Solution:
We worked with the customer to design the tank with internal bracing, accommodation to “drop a weight” for wave formation, and a bezier curve to simulate the shoreline where the wave will dissipate. Naturally, the whole unit needed to be transparent so the children could watch the whole shebang unfold.
The Result:
After thousands of kids made waves, we have happy kids and a happy customer.
